Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Helmledgers is operated by Paul Mears and Stephen Power ("Helmledgers", "we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have. If you have any questions, email contact@helmledgers.com.
What we collect
- Information you give us: when you fill in our pilot or contact form we collect your name, work email, company and your message. When you sign up for a report or our newsletter we collect your email address.
- Usage data: when you use our website or platform we collect basic information such as pages visited, reports run, features used, browser and device type, and approximate location (country level).
- Emails: if you email us, we keep the correspondence.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and run pilots with test partners.
- To send you reports and the newsletter you signed up for.
- To understand how Helmledgers is used so we can improve it.
- To keep our website and platform secure.
Our legal basis is your consent (for the newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time), the steps needed to respond to you or provide a service you asked for, and our legitimate interest in running and improving Helmledgers.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data.
- We don't share what you research on Helmledgers with anyone else.
Who processes data for us
We use trusted service providers to run Helmledgers. They process data only on our instructions:
- Website hosting: Lovable
- Database and platform infrastructure: Supabase
- Email: Google (Gmail / Google Workspace) and our newsletter provider
- Website analytics: Google Analytics
Some of these providers may store data outside the UK, the European Economic Area or Hong Kong. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards they provide, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and pilot correspondence: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless we're working together.
- Newsletter email addresses: until you unsubscribe.
- Usage data: kept in aggregated form to understand trends.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed for the website and platform to work, plus analytics. We don't use advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, to stop using it, or to send you a copy. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in every email. To make a request, email contact@helmledgers.com and we'll respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, such as the Data Protection Commission in Ireland, the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data in Hong Kong.
Security
We use reputable providers and take reasonable steps to protect your data. No system is completely secure, so if you think something has gone wrong, please tell us at contact@helmledgers.com.
Children
Helmledgers is for professional users and is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy as Helmledgers grows. We'll change the date at the top when we do, and tell newsletter subscribers about any significant changes.
